The Director General Inclusion Programme and the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras delivered the diplomas to the students in the course of Social Skills Project Springboard " (17/06/2008)

The Director General of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs, John Brown, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, along with the councilman of Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia have made delivery of the diplomas certifying course Social Skills for people at risk of social exclusion is part of the training project 'Springboard' funded through the Institute of Social Action Murciano, under the Ministry of Social Policy.

The recipients of the project were ten women and one man living in Puerto Lumbreras that meet certain requirements or special situations such as periodic economic benefit recipients, women with family responsibilities are not shared, people from dysfunctional families with poor social skills with limited levels of education for personal development daily.

With a budget of more than 24,000 euros, after 180 hours of training, project members 'Springboard' basic social skills acquired through training in skills and strategies that have brought stability and promoting its staff and its future integration in the labor market.

All this through three main modules as have been the module 'Social Skills', where monitors have established a minimum number of tools to interact with other people, such as presentations and verbal and nonverbal communication.

On the other hand, 'health module' and 'Education Module' workshops have included education, housing and domestic organization, resume development, interviewing and job hunting in general, as well as the workshop of social and family relationships and personal.

Finally the training module has been introduced to the members at the workshop of literacy, educational support, with writing exercises and oral, cultural literacy, reading and math and computer science, among others, performed in church halls in the municipality .

The methodology of this project was purely participatory through group dynamics and drama, in which a counselor has individual attention to each of the participants, providing support and guidance, adapting to the training contents and the profile of concerned.

'With this project we wanted to support and open new opportunities for people vulnerable to falling into social exclusion and create an emergency plan so that this group can regain his self esteem, personal training and recovery, as well as social mediation In order to facilitate insertion into the labor market in a quick and successful 'as stated the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
