Puerto Lumbreras lived during yesterday's Independence Day on its fiftieth anniversary by holding a number of commemorative events from early in the morning.
All day entry to public swimming pools was free for anyone who wanted to spend a refreshing holiday together with their families.
From the City Park addition, 50 rockets were launched by each of the 50 years of independence experienced by the Consistory lumbrerense.
Moments later came the traditional rice and Turkey, where around 2000 lumbrerenses enjoyed this day of coexistence and celebrations.
Also radio stations, and Cope Onda Regional Lorca, performed a special program from the municipality where they interviewed several leading figures in Puerto Lumbreras, among others, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, who gave a brief overview over of the municipality's history today.
In this way the radio station Cope Lorca held special programming throughout the week.
Regional television 'La 7' delivered the news at 14:30 pm, live from the Plaza de la Constitution.
