The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras and the Association of Disabled Persons ADICA sign new cooperation agreement (08/07/2008)

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras and regional deputy, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the representative of the Association of People with Disabilities "The Castle" ADICA, Miguel Martín López, this morning signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions for the operation of the service, the Early Childhood Center that serves children from 0 to 6 years in Puerto Lumbreras.

By signing this agreement provides for the implementation of the programming activities of the Center for Early Child Development and whose services are provided by the Association of People with Disabilities The Castle (ADICA), responsible for meeting the needs that the Center presents As for human resources, materials and maintenance.

A total of five professionals (psychologist, physiotherapist, social worker, speech therapist and Aquatics Technician) attended during 2007 62 children with different diagnoses and syndromes, language delays, psychomotor retardation and biological hazards, among others, a figure that has increased this year because, until June ADICA has 56 students registered.

The services currently offered by the Center for Child Development and Early Intervention (CDIAT) are framed in the assessment and diagnosis, stimulation treatments, physiotherapy, speech therapy and family intervention, information, support and family counseling, support and monitoring related resources lower.
