Puerto Lumbreras improve all access from Aguilas, Lorca and Aguilas (20/08/2008)

20, Agosto'08 .- The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez next to the business council, development and employment, David Piñero Ginés presented at a press conference the next run of the refurbishment of the urban section of the road D -16, Street Lemon Tree, the improvement of the road D-19 Eagles from Rambla de Vilerda to Avenida de Almeria and the adequacy of the margins of national highway 340, from the motorway exit to the industrial estate , zone Rest.

The mayor noted that "the objective of this work is to improve road infrastructure, providing all parts of the municipality of adequate accessibility, both for residential use as an economic activity, resolving the adequacy of public spaces with the creation of avenues and ongoing maintenance of roads, and a marked improvement of road safety, "concluded explaining Sanchez-all of these roads will be equipped with a bike lane."

The total budget for this work amounts to more than three million euros and will be the Autonomous Community with the Consistory lumbrerense funding bodies such actions remodeling the urban stretch of road.

The works of these three roads is scheduled to begin after the summer.

RENOVATION OF URBAN SECTION OF THE ROAD D-16

The road D-16 of Puerto Lumbreras in Season-The Esparragal an investment of 1,115,028 euros to work on improving, widening and restitution curves, asphalt and paving roads.

This road has great importance to the municipal level, because it connects the capital of the municipality with the town of The Station, in the hamlet of Esparragal, also has great dynamism to be found beside the railway line and an area of significant activity agricultural.

MARGIN-340

With a grant of 900,000 euros will improve the margins of national highway 340, now Avenida Juan Carlos I, from the motorway exit to the industrial estate.

This road links the town with the busy industrial area and walk daily by many residents, in addition to being classified as special point of danger from the intense traffic of vehicles in their path. The total cost of the proposed reform of this approach amounts 1.2 million euros.

To do this, it is planned to carry out several actions such as the nonexistent sidewalks, road paving and installation of street lighting.

IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE ROAD OF EAGLES-D-19

Improving the road environment Eagles, D-19, from Rambla de Vilerda to Avenida de Almeria involves an investment of 1,169,918 euros funded jointly by the Autonomous Region and the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras to adapt the way for urban areas.

Specifically, we will proceed to the creation of sidewalks, removal of architectural barriers, construction of roundabouts for the regulation of heavy vehicles, road paving, street lighting and furniture placement as banks bins and boxes.
