The Director General of Crafts and the Mayor inaugurated the Medieval Market Fair and Festivals of Puerto Lumbreras 2008 (04/10/2008)

The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, accompanied by the Director General of Trade and Handicrafts of the Region of Murcia, Julio José Lorenzo, Councillor of Enterprise, Employment and Local Development, Ginés David Piñero, and several members of the Local Government Team Town Hall, inaugurated this morning the Medieval Market in Puerto Lumbreras, during the festivities, which has been located in the Passage de la Reina, as is customary in recent years.

The medieval market will be held all day Saturday and Sunday and will display exhibits and crafts workshops missing, among other shows.

Medieval Market have different medieval characters seen loitering around the area, as well as animals at the time, like donkeys, geese, rabbits and chickens, among others.

You have been, throughout the morning, changing exhibitions of traditional folk crafts such as falconry, barber and bedding.

Workshops with practical demonstrations of the skills of artisans, hats and masks.

But above all, have seen a score of seats offered to the public the finest delicacies as cheese and sausages to concerns, as well as bread, pastry, candy, candy and wine, among many others.

Without a doubt, has been the 'staging' of different medieval characters, a group of children's entertainment and pipers, properly dressed in their respective costumes, which has attracted the attention of the large audience.

Also stress that the exhibition has been organized through the Department of Business and Local Development of the City of Puerto Lumbreras in collaboration with the Association of Artisans of Puerto Lumbreras (ARTEPLU) and the Retailers Association of Puerto Lumbreras (ASEPLU) crafts the municipality is present in the regional crafts fair.

Also, many local artisans have had a booth at the Craft Fair which presents a selection of handicrafts such as paintings, shoes, soap, work in Esparto, honey and embroidery among others.

The craftsmanship of Puerto Lumbreras is characterized by using traditional local materials to manufacture its products, and by using manual techniques moving away from mass production, so it works with wood, stone, ceramics, glass, cane and spelled.

Classic motorcycles and Montesa and Ossa Bultazo have focused this morning on the Passage de la Reina, another edition in the activity organized in the exhibition of vintage motorbikes which have since been on a journey to the area of the bars on Avenida Pedro Garcia Rubio and several streets in the town lumbrerense.
