The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras and Regional Representative, Pedro Antonio Sánchez has requested a meeting with the President of House of Spain to discuss the future of the Parador.

This request is in addition to which a few days ago asked the Minister of Tourism, Secretary of State for Tourism and to the Government in the Region of Murcia, without having received a reply so far.

According to the Mayor "meeting we have asked to specify what action, what action and when you will be making improvements to the Parador Nacional de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras to leave it in the best conditions"

The Mayor was speaking after meeting House announcement to include the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras in the House Strategic Plan for the years 2009-2012 a week after workers at the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras received a letter from the UGT union where textually informing them that "not a date, or in the near future is planned by the management of the company an operation of this nature ..." referring to the transformation of a Parador Parador School.

Pedro Antonio Sánchez has also announced that the next plenary session will present a motion supporting the Parador Nacional de Turismo de Puerto Lumbreras and claiming the necessary investments in the property.
