The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez and Councilman Works and Environment, Eliseo Sanchez this morning visited the works of the EcoPark, which will be completed in the coming weeks, in order to facilitate the collection of waste that do not fit traditional containers.
The works, with a total area of 1,200 square meters, consist of a modular control building, a building of special household waste, a classroom and environmental education information, restrooms, a maintenance depot, parks, parking area, municipal solid waste area, internal circulation roads, sewage networks, water supply and electricity.
The new infrastructure has been funded entirely by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning.
"The new Clean Point will be a place where citizens can deposit waste in the certainty that they will be withdrawn by the authorized agents for recycling or processing", as said the mayor, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, who also highlighted - "This new project complements another new measures implemented towards the protection of the environment a few days ago, as has been the receipt of 514 new containers for the collection of solid waste, plastic packaging, paper and carton, the incorporation of the new sweeper and the forthcoming launch of three new waste collection vehicles side-loading a system put into operation less noisy and annoying to the citizens. "
The EcoPark is located on a site provided by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras located in the industrial area of the town, and joins the more than thirty points Clean with those already available to the Region of Murcia.
The EcoPark is intended to group both domiciled MSW recoverable as special.
