"Contributing to the protection of the rights of workers and improve the quality of working life" are, according to the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, two of the main objectives of the employment policy of the municipality lumbrerense.

For the mayor, "is a priority of this government that all employees have safety and quality of work, protection and rights that are fully aware and which are always well informed."

To help pursue the purposes set out in this policy, the Town Hall Lumbrerense has agreed with the General Workers Union, launching a lifelong career counseling service to provide information and legal support to the entire population.

The agreement with the UGT, which the Consistory governed by Sanchez contribute € 6,000, will allow the implementation of advisory services to employees working at the new headquarters of this organization in the municipality, to be located in the Plaza of the Constitution.

Pedro Antonio Sánchez has also noted the benefit of this agreement to "promote the integration of immigrants in the county and promote social participation."
