II Local Agreement for improving education (11/04/2009)

The full City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has approved the convening of the Second Local Agreement for Education.

According to the Mayor "to the achievement of the Local Compact II for education, all those involved in education will have the opportunity to participate in a process of improving both the infrastructure and the training of lumbrerenses, from the smallest to adult education, with groups also implicated as ADICA "

The Local Compact is a working tool that brings together local government and various stakeholders in education for development and improvement of education from the agreement and consensus.

In the first experiment carried out in Puerto Lumbreras, in 2006, the school community with teachers, students, parents, social partners and local government collected a series of measures that contributed to the improvement and expansion of educational community services .

The call of the new Local Agreement for Education include new challenges to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the municipality.

Investments to improve infrastructure

The mayor recently announced investment of more than five million euros to improve and expand the infrastructure of schools and to provide broader educational opportunities and better quality.

These actions will take place in public schools in the area, Lopez Alcaraz, Immaculate Conception and Assumption Jordan, and the Rambla de Nogalte IES.
