Begin testing Cycling Championships in Spain in Puerto Lumbreras Adapted (16/05/2009)

More than a hundred athletes have gathered in the town and have made individual time trial in the categories for participants who have physical disabilities, cerebral palsy or visual impairment.

Championship Adapted Cycling Spain has begun this morning in the town of Puerto Lumbreras with individual time trials.

Throughout the weekend, the competition attracts over a hundred disabled athletes from around the country that perform individual time trial route group.

The tests are divided into modes depending on the type of defects will be two tours, first with a distance of 17 kilometers, and the second with 8 kilometers.

The tests have both tandems of ONCE, as with physical disabilities in four categories according to disability (LC1, LC2, LC3, LC4), and cerebral palsy by bike (D3 and D4) as a tricycle (D1 and D2 .)

The championship includes HandCycling mode in which athletes participate in three-wheeled bicycle manuals.

Participants in the Championship of Spain to be held in Puerto Lumbreras, highlights Javier Ochoa, who became champion of the combined test Paralympic road (background / trial) and runner-up in the track individual pursuit at Athens 2004.

It is also current world time trial champion and runner-up road in pursuit on the track and back road.

Roberto Alcaide is another of the participants listed as medalists Paralympic champion in the form of persecution on track and finished second in the combined background and trial.

Warden has won ten medals in European Championships and seven World Cups.

The championships end Sunday morning with the road test route, and the trophy presentation ceremony and the leaders jersey in each category.
