The Government of Puerto Lumbreras Spain spends 2.3 million euros for 14 pieces of the Local Investment Fund (23/06/2009)

The Government of Spain has paid 150 million euros in 583 works of the Murcia region involving the creation of more than 11,000 jobs so far

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez López, visited this morning some of the works being undertaken in the municipality under the Local Investment Fund.

The works, a total of fourteen, were selected by the City Council and subsequently approved by the Government Delegation in the first instance, and the then Ministry of Public Administration later.

The budget for these is of 2,294,476 euros.

It was initially planned to create 65 jobs, no clutch, once they have been awarded, the job has increased significantly, reaching a total of 222 workers, 48 newly created and 174 persons within the successful tenderers .

This morning he visited one of the projects already started, which corresponds to the paddle tennis court located on the station Esparragal, amounting to 29,999 euros.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras has indicated that its economic size, the most important works in the Local Investment Fund is a budget of 556,578.08 euros, the project of improvement and upgrading of hits in the new school environment public "Sacred Heart" and the Center for Reconciliation of Work and Family Life in the street Pablo Casals.

This work includes supply systems, curbing sidewalks, pipes existing collectors sanitation, telecommunications networks and public lighting, paving, landscaping and signage.

Similar features is another project, which corresponds to the development works with the school equipment "Immaculate Conception" in Esparragal Station, where an investment of EUR 455,782.57 was going to build sidewalks, while that architectural barriers be removed and may be concrete wall, street lighting, a sewage and stormwater, electricity and telephone facilities, as well as paving.

The remaining works will be performed in Puerto Lumbreras under the Local Investment Fund are:

Improvement and upgrading of the road and other Air (43839.27).

Funeral halls for 384 niches in the municipal cemetery of St. Damian (133 632).

Street lighting installations (134,975.28).

Adequacy of Calle San Francisco and the vicinity of the plaza Juan Pablo II (242,483.50).

Network of water supply in the Camino Viejo del Puerto (34092.64).

Paving the Way for the Mariners (83443.25), the way of the Payareses (138,683.82) and the way Augustine Tunisia (88435.93).

Rain collector on the street Virgen de la Salud and other (139,266.06).

Reconstruction of a wall in the street Pita (37,919.58)

Electrification works on the street and its surrounding San Javier (175,344.03)

The Government delegate recalled that the Government of Spain paid to municipalities for 70% of each of these works once they are hired them, and the remaining 30% upon completion.

On this regard, Puerto Lumbreras has received all the first part of the payment of the 14 works, 1,605,389 euros.

The Local Investment Fund to date

Moreover, Gonzalez Tovar reported that to date, the Ministry of Planning Policy has been transferred to 41 municipalities in the region EUR 149,526,106, corresponding to 583 projects have received funding for the 70 percent of the total payment projects.

He recalled that 30% will be issued upon completion of each performance and worth the investment with the Government of Spain.

In this sense, González Tovar explained that this week has been paid by the end of work on the first draft of the Region, held in the municipality of Santomera.

The Government delegate pointed out that the Region of Murcia has been the recipient of 246.3 M € of this fund and once the presentation phase of projects, 673 projects submitted were approved by the 45 municipalities in the region.

It has also made reference to the autonomy with which the councils have selected their projects, addressing the needs of their municipality as well as employment generation, which initially was estimated at about 8,715 jobs and depending on the duration of works in a 1,116,205 hours of work and hopefully will be overcome.
