This year we have organized activities for the sport and knowledge of nature and environmental workshops, sports, hiking and visits to the Astronomical Observatory.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras year organized a traditional summer camp at the Youth Hostel Cabezo de la Jara.
This year, starting tomorrow, about 50 young people from different regions will participate for 10 days in the initiative that has organized the Department of Youth and Sports to promote values through workshops and educational activities.
According to the Youth and Sports Councillor, Mariano Carrasco, "the summer camp is a fun educational activity in which most children learn to live with the rest of their classmates and instructors from different parts of Spain.
We have also launched various activities to promote values such as teamwork, respect for the environment or the sport. "
Among the activities organized for the 2009 summer camp, workshops include fine arts and environmental education, crafts or sports activities.
In addition, they have organized dances, games and songs to engage young people during their free time.
"The activity is aimed at children aged between 6 and 14 who will stay at the Youth Hostel of the municipality where infrastructures have renovated a small farm and various play areas and workshops," the councilman of Youth and Sports, Mariano Carrasco.
In addition, from July 2 until 12, children will participate in another series of activities, including visits to various areas and infrastructure of Puerto Lumbreras, the Astronomical Observatory or hiking trails.
