Puerto Lumbreras Ceremony Celebrates Awards 'City Entrepreneur 2009' (18/07/2009)

During the ceremony, awarded the Prize for Life Business Builder Fulgencio Romera, and recognized the work of other companies like Villarejo Restaurant, Supermarket Bakeries López Parra or Marquino.

The town of Puerto Lumbreras hosted last night for the sixth consecutive year the awards ceremony of the Business Awards, "Puerto Lumbreras, County Entrepreneur 'in a ceremony attended by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the director of the Institute of Development Region of Murcia, Juan José Beltran, along with members of the government team and representatives of the Confederation of Puerto Lumbreras, ASEPLU.

In addition, the 2009 Business Awards have honored the Supermarket Parra with 'Commerce Award' for his career which has become a major shopping centers in Puerto Lumbreras since it began as a small grocery store in 1961.

On the other hand, 'Entrepreneur Award' was for Marquino Bakeries, their ability to expand and open new stores in the municipality, while the restaurant Villarejo won the 'Hard Work', recognizing the work of its founder, José Villarejo, who has dedicated his life to the kitchen of the main national House.

In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras added that "it is bound business projects that have promoted business development in the municipality."

The jury awarded these awards is composed of members of ASEPLU and the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.

Fulgencio Romera

Born in Puerto Lumbreras in 1947, very young began to work helping their parents in farm work on a farm behind closed doors where he lived with his family.

In 1964, at age 17 had to emigrate to France to continue working in the field, and after two years returned to Puerto Lumbreras where he began working as a laborer.

After a time, in 1973, returned to emigrate, but this time to Switzerland where he worked as a bricklayer.

Later this year he returned again to Spain, where he decided to start his own construction company.

Over the years managed to create a small but solid company dedicated to working for individuals and the construction of housing developments in recent years.

His life has been marked by entrepreneurship in the construction sector.

Parra Lopez Supermarket

In 1961 he was when Jerome Lopez Garcia, recently completed his military service, took charge of a small family business located in El Esparragal, where the population was no more than a dozen people.

Like all beginnings are hard, this was not least because by that time there was no running water nor electricity, and the union of the hamlet in Puerto Lumbreras was merely a stone path which made the procurement of the store.

In 1967 he managed to install electric light and became the first expansion of the store, including a bar with a room that met all the neighbors to watch TV.

Bakeries Marquino

The company started with very few resources in 1992 after renting one of the oldest bakeries in Puerto Lumbreras, "Robles Bakery ', in which he worked until 1994, when it opened the first bakery' The Marquino 'located in Calle Virgen de la Salud.

Villarejo Joseph was born in 1946 in a small town called Bailen Jaen.

Two years later would become a kitchen assistant at the Parador de Altas Torres Madrigal and then at Bañeza, both in Castile and Leon.

In 1964 he had his first contact with this land when he worked for two years as assistant chef at the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras.

Here you get to meet Maria Concepcion, who became his wife five years.

During the following years as Head Chef, go through the various House of Huesca, Melilla and Tarragona, until returning in 1980 to Puerto Lumbreras.

After 13 years as chef de cuisine at the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras, decided to start her own business, and in 1993 opened the Inn Villarejo.
