Puerto Lumbreras host the XXII edition of the National Folk Festival (27/07/2009)

The Festival will feature performances by local folk group Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario and other groups that represent the folklore of regions such as Andalusia, with the Cultural Association of Round Abul Beka or Valencia with the Cultural Association of Carlet Trencall

July 27, 2009. The town of Puerto Lumbreras host next Saturday, August 1 at 22.00 hours the XXII National Folklore Festival that is included in the Cultural Nogalte program.

Councillor for Education, Culture and Celebrations, Isabel García, alongside the president of the Chorus and Dance Group Virgen del Rosario, Joaquin Esteban Gonzalez, which will be presented the 2009 festival set lumbrerense.

"The National Folk Festival each year becomes important, and it has become one of the most important folk performances at regional and national levels.

In this 2009 edition, the Festival will feature performances by folk dance groups from other regions such as Andalusia and Valencia, "said the Councillor for Education, Culture and festivals, Isabel García.

At its twenty-second edition, the Festival will feature over 150 artists from the Cultural Association of Carlet Trencall of Valencia, Cultural Association Abul Beka Malaga, and the Group of Songs and Dances of Jumilla, integrated into the Association of the Region of Murcia Francisco Salzillo.

Moreover, as each year the National Folk Festival will show the tradition of the town of Puerto Lumbreras in the traditional parranda, Malaga and Jacks represented by the Chorus and Dance Group Virgen del Rosario.

In this sense, the president of the folk group lumbrerense Joaquin Gonzlaéz esteban, stressed that "in this new edition we have a high performance level, because we have different national groups that have participated in numerous international festivals."

CHOIR AND DANCE GROUP VIRGEN DEL ROSARIO DE Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia)

CHOIR AND DANCE GROUP Jumilla (Murcia)

Group Songs and Dances of Jumilla, host and organizer of the National Folklore Festival "Ciudad de Jumilla" is categorized as part of ethnological science that studies the customs, clothing, legends, and popular festivals of the municipality for .

It goes back to the founding of the Group in 1940, dedicating many hours and many group efforts to achieve the artistic quality enough to participate in provincial competitions each year took place at the Teatro Romea de Murcia.

Currently a member of the Federation of Associations of Songs and Dances of Spain (FACYDE) and actively participates in all activities.

THE CULTURAL ASSOCIATION Trencall Carlet (Valencia)

ABUL CULTURAL ASSOCIATION BEKA (ANDALUCIA)

The initial Chorus and Dance Group was created in 1950 and in 1968 he began his international performances.

Since then he has shown the Andalusian folklore for about 20 countries and has been awarded twice with the "Golden Poppy", the Festival of Alcazar de San Juan.

His repertoire consists of fandangos, tangos, Seville, Ronda, tanguillos, farrucas, peteneras and Malaga, which is practically all the Andalusian folklore represented in its proceedings.
