More than 1,000 people attended the XXII edition of the National Folk Festival held in Puerto Lumbreras (02/08/2009)

The Festival featured performances by local folk group Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario and other groups representing the folklore of other regions, like Andalusia, with the Cultural Association of Round Abul Beka or Valencia with the Cultural Association Trencall Carlet

The town of Puerto Lumbreras last night hosted the XXII National Folklore Festival in the program framed Cultural Nogalte 1009.

More than 1,000 people attended the Festival which this year has had the participation of more than 150 artists representing the folklore of various regions.

"The National Folk Festival each year gains importance, becoming one of the most important folk performances at regional and national levels.

This year we had performances by renowned folk dance groups from other regions such as Andalusia and Valencia, which have brought their traditions through dance and song at various international festivals, "the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

CULTURAL REPRESENTATION IN THE FESTIVAL

CHOIR AND DANCE GROUP VIRGEN DEL ROSARIO DE Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia)

His work focuses on the conservation, recovery and distribution of music, dance and traditional costumes of the town.

CHOIR AND DANCE GROUP Jumilla (Murcia)

Group Songs and Dances of Jumilla, host and organizer of the National Folklore Festival 'City of Jumilla' is classified as part of ethnological science that studies the customs, clothing, legends, and popular festivals of the municipality for .

It goes back to the founding of the Group in 1940, dedicating many hours and many group efforts to achieve the artistic quality enough to participate in provincial competitions each year took place at the Teatro Romea de Murcia.

THE CULTURAL ASSOCIATION Trencall Carlet (Valencia)

The group was founded in about 1943, since 1977, the group takes its name from 'The Trencall' the name of the highest mountain in the semicircle of mountains around the end of Carlet, from which opens a wide valley integrated into the counties of Ribera Alta and Baja Júcar River.

It works every year in numerous towns and cities of Valencia.

He has participated in numerous competitions which highlight, the International Festival of Bangkok, International Tourism Congress Asta 77 Madrid, VI and XI International Festival of Mediterranean Murcia.

ABUL CULTURAL ASSOCIATION BEKA (ANDALUCIA)

The initial Chorus and Dance Group was created in 1950 and in 1968 he began his international performances.

Since then he has shown the Andalusian folklore for about 20 countries and has been awarded twice with the "Golden Poppy", the Festival of Alcazar de San Juan.

His repertoire consists of fandangos, tangos, Seville, Ronda, tanguillos, farrucas, peteneras and Malaga, which is practically all the Andalusian folklore represented in its proceedings.
