The town of Puerto Lumbreras hosts the traditional summer school in which children between 5 and 12 years develop educational and leisure activities.

In this event, organized from the Department of Youth, has doubled the number of participants with a total of 52 students.

The councilman of Youth, Mariano Carrasco, accompanied by Council of Education, Social Policy and New Technologies, this morning visited the students of the Summer School 2009 that are conducting educational and recreational activities in various parts of the municipality during the summer.

In addition, the Summer School welcomes children involved in the association of people with disabilities in Puerto Lumbreras, ADICA, and children from disadvantaged families who have registered through Social Services.

According to the councilman of Youth and Sports, Mariano Carrasco, "the activities are aimed at children between 5 and 12 years, and covers the concerns and preferences of both parents and students with initiatives covering various fields such as environment, crafts or sporting activities. "

In addition, Carrasco added that "the Summer School aims to continue the education of young people, occupying their free time during the summer months in the most fun and enjoyable as possible."

The facilities of the Centre for Local Development and Municipal Polideportivo welcome this new edition of the Summer School in the morning.

The basic objective of this initiative is to promote educational activities and entertainment, while supporting initiatives that promote social integration of children.
