The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has dedicated a street to the teacher Teresa Navarro Salas lumbrerense in recognition of his work as a teacher for 40 years in the municipality.

More than 300 people, including members of the municipal corporation, family, and neighbors, attended the opening ceremony in which tribute was placed plaque that names the street.

The teacher Teresa Navarro Salas, known as 'Dona Teresa' in the municipality, has been honored with the dedication of a street from the center of Puerto Lumbreras in gratitude to his teaching for over 40 years in the locality.

The placement of the new board was also coincide with the birthday of the honored 91.

"I appreciate this recognition is also a tribute to the masters of that time when we give our effort and enthusiasm for the children of these people receive the best education possible for the benefit of their future," said Dona Teresa, showing great lucidity despite his 91 years of age.

The appointment of the street comes after the unanimous adoption by the City's new name, following the request of many neighbors.

Dona Teresa was married to the poet and local teacher Buenaventura Romera, who also has a town garden dedicated to his career and teaching.

The plate is named Teacher Teresa Navarro Street Chambers, has been made in ceramics by local artist and son of the honoree, Mark Salvador Romero, who attended the event along with the rest of the family of 'Dona Teresa'.
