Puerto Lumbreras drives a Vocational Training Programme to facilitate the employability of young people (25/10/2009)

Through this initiative, the municipality will facilitate the employment of young people and will in turn obtain the compulsory education graduate

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Local Employment Centre for Youth and Local Development Centre, has launched for the first year an Initial Vocational Training Program (IPPP) in order to enhance social and professional integration and development basic skills for further study in different courses.

Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, stressed that it is a "program promoted by first year from the council, and with which we intend to promote the social inclusion of young people who for various reasons have not obtained the title of Secondary Education. "

A PCPI was established as a formal education in which students acquire skills specific to a Level 1 qualification included in the current structure of the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications.

The program, promoted through the Local Development Centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, has a duration equivalent to one academic year, with 600 hours, and train young people to take professional profiles as an assistant store and trade.

In addition, the program promotes training in areas such as trade assistants and warehouse through block oriented customer, goods receipts and records, and inventory counts.

In this sense, the Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, added that it is an "initiative promoted by the municipality with which we intend to promote education and youth employment through training in the form of Professional Workshop with internships. "

In addition, the program, which targets young people at risk of dropping out of school or have dropped out, provides training in workplaces regulated, evaluated and supervised, plus socio personalized guidance to promote and facilitate personal development, learning, knowledge of the labor market and actively seeking employment.

The PCPI, consist of two academic years, the first mandatory course and consists of specific mandatory modules and in our case, Auxiliary Services Trade and Warehousing, Training and Employment Guidance and other free choice.

In addition, students will practice in workplaces covered by the Education Training and Employment, in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.

The main objectives of Initial Vocational Training Program, are, provide and strengthen the skills that allow for personal, social and professional students and provide students with skills to facilitate their insertion skilled labor.
