The Eagles Natura Environmental Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has led environmental campaign in the natural environment to enhance the conservation of native species in the area.
Environmental Partnership, Eagles Natura, in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, has carried out over the weekend Reforestation Campaign native plants in the natural setting of Cabezo la Jara in Puerto Lumbreras.
The Councillor for Rural Development, Jose Maria Parra, accompanied the volunteers on this day of reforestation, which is able to plant more than 80 taxa and built a feeder for the fauna in the area.
According to José María Parra, "the council continues to support this initiative to promote Natura Eagles in the city, to preserve the vegetation of the area and promote the care and respect for the environment in the young."
This new vegetation replanting has included the planting of many species indigenous to the area, such as Olea sylvestris, Salsola oppositofolia or Lavandula dentate.
In addition, the Eagles Nature Association has developed a study to determine the proper state of plantations for reforestation campaigns preceding the Cabezo la Jara.
These natural landscapes are dominated by the peak Cabezo de la Jara, of 1,246 meters, are characterized by a set of rolling hills intersected by wadis.
Among its vegetation include remnants of Mediterranean scrubland and fauna has protected areas inhabited by the tortoise.
This natural area offers visitors 14 different trail routes, making it one of the most iconic green spaces in the region of Murcia.
