Councilman Izquierda Unida in the city of Puerto Lumbreras, along with other colleagues in the organization, participate in the demonstration on November 21 called by the agricultural organizations COAG, UPA and ASAJA And to be held in Madrid, in defense of primary sector of our country.
In this sense, fully agrees with the manifest of the organizers, where among other issues indicated the need for the establishment of fair prices, tax reforms, financing plans, policies designed to promote cooperative, ETC.
The crisis facing the countryside and farming is of particular concern to lumbrerense economy, which has always been nourished by small farms and ranches in single-family character, that since much of the current situation are becoming unviable and is causing a continuous drop of the same.
It is also worrisome to those employees who serve as employees in agricultural enterprises, which every day are more difficult to market their products and compete with those from other countries, since historically Puerto Lumbreras has been supplying manpower companies other neighboring towns, such as eagles and Mazarrón, that given the current situation are being forced to delay the start of their campaigns and in some cases considering job layoffs or closures.
