The council has promoted several events coinciding with the International Day for the 'Elimination of Violence against Women', to be held tomorrow 25 November.
Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez, read the Manifesto against gender violence at an event they have attended several team members municipal government.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the council's Equal Opportunities has promoted various activities to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
This morning, the day began with the reading of the manifesto against gender violence, in a ceremony to be attended various team members municipal government, and among them was the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
According to Sanchez, "every municipality must show solidarity with victims of domestic violence and their families.
It is very important for society to know this great social problem to end it, and therefore from the council have launched an information campaign involving all the businesses and associations. "
Besides reading the Manifesto by the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez, the town has hosted the awards to students of the Institute of Nogalte Rambla that has participated in the logo design contest of the information campaign against lence that has launched the City Council.
The prize winners have received as computer equipment, and the first prize has been delivered to a laptop.
Finally, the day has had an interactive lecture group 'Agora', a team specializing in gender violence that explained the social problem with hints of irony and fun, to bring it all lumbrerenses and promote awareness.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "all activities have been directed at various groups in the municipality, thereby trying to increase awareness, reflection and the prevention of violence against women through activities dynamic and participatory. "
