Councillor for Education and Culture, Isabel Garcia has visited the site with members of the Association of Songs and Dances Virgen del Rosario.
The Councillor for Education and Culture, Isabel García, along with several members of the 'Asociación de Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario' this morning visited the site of the new Museum and Folk Centre Virgen del Rosario of Puerto Lumbreras.
Garcia noted that "the new Centre and Folk Museum Virgen del Rosario will further promote the traditional folk culture in the municipality through scenic areas suitable for development activities associated with lumbrerense cultural preservation."
This new public facilities will be established as the official seat of the Group of Songs and Dances of the locality 'Virgen del Rosario', which showcases our folklore with his performances in Spain and other countries, "the mayor stressed.
Infrastructure, which will house both the museum and the Folk Center, have a total investment of 920,188 euros, funded between the City of Puerto Lumbreras, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and is expected to finish construction next year.
The new facility is located on a plot of 233 square meters located at the corner of the streets Alcolea Ezequiel López and Francisco Tirado.
The building has a basement and three floors spread over 944.00 meters square.
The basement area clinic includes folk costumes, iron and sewing area and toilets and storage folk instruments while the ground floor will house the Museum of Folklore of Puerto Lumbreras, embroidery and music, public toilets and external access to the museum and the rest of the building.
On the other hand, the first floor includes ballroom and trials for the development of cultural and folk.
Moreover, this first floor is complemented by halls and toilets.
Finally, the floor penthouse will have a test track outside, toilets, lounge and multipurpose and bedroom residence that will accommodate folk groups from other communities to develop festivals and cultural activities in Puerto Lumbreras.
Councilwoman concluded by explaining that 'the popular manifestations of more deeply rooted in the town of Puerto Lumbreras have risen steadily in recent years, to folk performances high artistic and aesthetic.
Our intention with this new equipment is to preserve the culture and folklore of the locality, besides making our identity in a claim for the visitor. "
The current group of Songs and Dances 'Virgen del Rosario' was established in 1980, and currently make up more than 40 people, including members of the rondalla and dancers.
His work focuses on the conservation, recovery and distribution of music, dance and traditional costumes of the town.
