The regional government has decided to award a grant of $ 10,000 to the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras to carry out a project aimed at the protection of minors and women against domestic violence, through the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras involved in the project 'Daphne III-Spire', included in the European Programme 2007-2013, which is part of the overall program on Fundamental Rights and Justice, is intended to lead to rural areas all information relating to combating domestic violence and strengthen networks for the detection and identification of victims in those areas.
