The Mayor presented the 'Yearbook 2009' which outlines the social and municipal activities in Puerto Lumbreras throughout the year (28/01/2010)

In 2009 it opened more than a dozen new public facilities and services in the town and initiated over 30 new works

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, along with several members of the Team, this morning the 'Yearbook 2009' which outlines the major events that have developed in the city during the past year.

"From January to December, the Directory makes a photographic memory which includes events, festivals, competitions and activities to show daily life in Puerto Lumbreras and see how it changes, evolving and growing year after year," said the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

Sanchez took stock of the past year in the municipality, which opened more than a dozen new public facilities and services and work began on new infrastructure that will improve services in Puerto Lumbreras.

Among the prominent openings, the Mayor highlighted the new medical center in the French Quarter that caters to more than 2,500 users in the area, avoiding travel to the Health Center and providing better health services in the municipality, or the new Center for Entrepreneurship, to increase employment in the locality with the launch of new businesses and job counseling programs to citizens.

Another great performance that was held in Puerto Lumbreras in 2009 has been the construction of new Day Care Centre for older people with an infrastructure of over 800 square meters, and initially offer 25 places to meet dependent elderly, 12 for persons with Alzheimer's and other dementias, and 3 for social emergencies.

According to the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "in 2009 we have kept the town of Puerto Lumbreras continue to grow as it has done in recent years.
