The school will have 7 classrooms of kindergarten, 12 elementary school classrooms, canteen and kitchen, gymnasium, library and laboratories, and two sports courts and a covered pavilion.
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, accompanied by Director General of Department, M ª José Jiménez, this morning visited the site of the new Sacred Heart school being built in the township.
The new public facilities, which were finished for the month of July, with an investment of over 4 ½ million euros.
According to the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "with the construction of this new school will answer the needs of education of the town, expanding to 450 the number of seats that will house the school."
The new facilities have more than 3,900 square feet on three floors.
Specifically, they shall be located 7 kindergarten classrooms, 12 elementary school classrooms, canteen and kitchen, gymnasium, library and laboratories.
In addition, the school will have two sports courts to be complemented by a covered pavilion of 800 square meters.
In this regard, Sanchez noted that "in addition to increasing the number of school places, the new center includes more and better infrastructure that will launch new services."
On the other hand, the public facility incorporates eight specialized classes to be assigned to perform activities such as language courses, music and new technologies.
In conclusion, Sanchez explained that "next to the new school also is building a nursery with a capacity for 100 children aged 0 to 3 years.
With these two new facilities each of the four schools in the municipality have a nursery school in their vicinity. "
