The International Fair of Contemporary Art opens its doors Explum with the opening of the exhibition of selected works (27/03/2010)

The International Competition Committee has selected fourteen projects and has acquired four works are scheduled to become part of the public library Explum.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, with director general of Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martinez, director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, inaugurated this afternoon by the International Art Competition Explum that celebrated in the town over the weekend.

The event, which this year features exhibits located in the Socio-Cultural Centre House Elves, and various urban spots in the municipality, will be exhibited until next April 16.

"The 2010 edition of Explum brings together national and international artists showcasing the latest artistic trends.

This year the event is characterized by a high artistic level, because the works were selected from more than 500 projects received by the committee, "stressed Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

In addition, during the inauguration, Sanchez has been particularly emphasized that "in recent years the International Competition Explum has become one of the meetings of pop art with the greatest impact within and outside the Region of Murcia."

The 2010 edition features the works of local artists and international prestige, as the Japanese Miyuki Inoue, and Guillermo Mora, who participated with his book 'Making Time', a collection of small demonstrations by manipulation and assembly of different materials and other works.

Another of the works of Explum 2010 is "Stories in the Forest ', the Madrid Tamara Arroyo and is composed of photographs and drawings in the Italian Tyrol.

Beside them, also highlights the involvement of Álvaro Trugeda, El Cuco, Laura Cuch, Dubreuil, Marta Soul, Nuria Fuster, Oriol Bogues, Regina de Miguel, Susana Figueira, Sam Jury and the English.

In this seventh edition of the International Competition Committee has fourteen projects selected among 500 applications and has acquired four works that are scheduled to become part of the public library Explum Arte Actual fund created by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras in order to give about the work of artists today by dissemination through exhibitions and publications.

The acquired works are 'Mad racket' by Oriol Bogues, 'Contracrostipunctus' Nuria Fuster, 'crossing point' of Llorenç Ugas and 'Making Time' by William Mora.

Individual projects

Individual projects offer an international forum for all kinds of artists.

In the 2010 edition the event has the sculpture 'The superficial show.

In addition, the concert will feature performances Jo Jo The Freq, one of the most popular DJs on the international scene, or the metal rock Zulu Time.
