Puerto Lumbreras received a 40% increase in tourist visits organized during the last year

Tourist Consortium of Puerto Lumbreras Nogalte Medina has participated throughout the weekend at the Second Exhibition of Consortia in the Region of Murcia to promote tourism in the town of Puerto Lumbreras.

The Councillor for Tourism, Ginés David Piñero, went to the shows where the Tourist Consortium, in collaboration with the City, has installed an information stand which shows the activities and attractions in Puerto Lumbreras.

The Second Exhibition of Consortia in the Region of Murcia, has been organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the School of Tourism, and establishes itself as a showcase for the public to know the food, culture, traditions, landscapes and monuments in the region.

Specifically, Medina Nogalte Tourist Consortium reports on the attractions of Puerto Lumbreras Cave Houses and the Castle Nogalte environment, among other tourist attractions in the municipality.

This is an event involving major consortia region and serves to show its various tourist attractions in the region.

Increased tourist arrivals in Puerto Lumbreras

The town of Puerto Lumbreras increased by more than 40 percent the number of organized tours in 2009.

The City, through the Office of Tourism, organized guided tours of the Observatory, and various areas emblematic or Nogalte Castle Cave Houses.

More than 7,000 tourists made such visits last year, greatly increasing the approximately 4,000 who registered in 2008.

In this sense, the Councillor for Tourism, Ginés David Piñero, noted that "tourism is a key area for development of Puerto Lumbreras, and an opportunity for economic growth.

Through the Office of Tourism we have increased the offer to stay organized in the municipality with a wide range of tourist, cultural and leisure activities.

In addition, the Tourist Consortium Nogalte Medina works in the Tourism Promotion Plan which includes investments in excess of 3 million euros in the tourism area. "
