Puerto Lumbreras closing the program "Fostering Business' led to the immigrant (20/04/2010)

Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, and the director general of Immigration and volunteering in the Region of Murcia, Leopoldo Navarro, have closed the training program which aims to encourage entrepreneurship in the immigrant community

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration Create Business Foundation and the Directorate General of Immigration and Volunteering, launched during this year the program "Fostering Business' aimed at immigrants.

Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, and the director general of Immigration and volunteering in the Region of Murcia, Leopoldo Navarro, have closed the training program at an event which has awarded diplomas to students who have completed the training program.

"The program aims to raise concerns in the immigrant business.

It is very important for people who come to our country know the requirements to start businesses and also has specific training to facilitate the development of new business plans, "said the Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia.

The program has enjoyed the participation of 27 immigrant children living in the city, and from various countries such as Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay.

For more than 8 weeks the students have completed training packages that have dealt with the promotion of productive savings, the various functional areas of the company, or the techniques of dealing with problems of a business.

The program has also had practical sessions and individual tutorials, as well as developing business plans that have been reviewed by the faculty training program.

Finally, students implement a business plan once the training program will receive individualized monitoring for two years.

The program has the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as a partner to promote business projects of immigrants returning to their country of origin.

In addition, through this institution, the residents of Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia and Uruguay also be formed to promote business in these countries.

In this sense, the Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, explaining that "the program was established as a method for enhancing the business and economic development in Spain through the creation of new businesses, but also serves as support for the countries of origin of immigrants, which also enhances the development through training programs. "
